The iPhone 4S is set to be released on Friday, and social media posts suggest some BlackBerry users may switch to other phones in part because of the prolonged break in services.

So … there was a prolonged outage for Blackberry users.
While I understand the frustration that comes with companies and individuals who depend on it, it happens. Technology fails sometimes. I guarantee you that iPhones and other android phones will experience the same thing at one point or another.
Sure, it was super annoying to have a flood of backlogged emails and texts ringing one after another this morning when everything was restored. But you know what? I’m still a loyal Blackberry user because these incidents are few and far in between for me.
All these people “threatening” to switch are crybabies. It’s so reminiscent of all those times people in the US say “i’m moving to Canada if Bush gets elected again” - really? Have we as a society stopped trying to adapt to things? Have we grown too comfortable in having things come easy for us that when something disrupts it, we give up too easily?
I think sometimes we take technology for granted.

Blackberry’s compensation for the disruption of service: $100 worth of free apps, suckers.
